Well, I'm sad to say that I will not be photographing this year's Blue Heron Dance: Nutcracker 2009. Seems another individual has exclusive rights to all Nutcraker photography this year :-/
I shot the Friday evening performance, December 5, 2008

Vashon Allied Arts marked its fortieth
anniversary with a celebration at the Blue Heron on Saturday, July 16,
2006. The particular goal was to bring back together some of the most
important people involved in creating, nurturing, and sustaining
Vashon Allied Arts over the decades, and to provide a get-together for
new and old friends and well-wishers.

"It is an honor to direct The Ice Wolf by
Johanna Halpert Krause at the Blue Heron Art Center. Messages in this
play speak to audiences of all ages. We all wish to be accepted for
our differences and celebrated for our uniquenesses. The Blue Heron
Youth Theatre is an excellent medium to explore social issues of
rejection, acceptance, and a deep understanding of how choices we make
affect others. I wish to thank an outstanding group of actors,
musicians, and technicians. Their dedication to this performance and
willingness to explore their own personal "uniquenessess" will create
indelible memories for all."
