The best way to order anything is always to email me at
jsage@finchhaven.com

Emailing me with your order allows me to keep in quick contact with you should I have a question about your order, confirm that I have received your payment, and that I have mailed your order.

I need to know:

  • which specific Set of which event you'd like your Blurb photo book to be of,
  • or,
  • the specific list of complete photo names (2191 Valkyries LAX v Bella-Prep 042516) you'd like in your custom Blurb photo book

Again, I can publish books from 20 to 240 pages; softcover, hard cover, or hard cover with a photo-printed paper jacket.

Email me with your specific order; I'll email you back with a price; upon receipt of your check, I place the order at Blurb, and I should mail your book out to you in about two weeks.

How to order

Pricing note: I'm getting beaten-up pretty badly by postage costs. Given my prices in general I just can't subsidize the Post Office by constantly undercharging on postage.

Sadly, effective Mon 18 Jan 2016 10:00:22 AM PST, I'm now charging $3.25 for first class postage on orders of any size.

Larger sizes and prices

In most cases my newer photography (particularly those shot with my EOS 5D Mark II or 1D Mark IV bodies) can be reprinted very successfully in even larger sizes.

My new Epson Stylus Photo R2880 inkjet printer also prints these larger sizes, which gives me full control over the finished photo you receive.

  •  11x14"  $24.00
  •  11x17"  $30.00
  • 13x19"  $40.00
  • First class postage, for any number of prints, add $3.25
  • Washington State sales tax of 8.6% will be added to all prices

When matted and framed, the 13 x 19" prints are easily a stunning 20 x 26" in size.

(If for some reason the specific photo you want won't enlarge sucessfully to my satisfaction, you owe me nothing).

How to order reprints

To order a photo, I need the complete photo name (i.e. "6837 Halloween on Vashon Island 2013 103113"), or at least the first 4 digits of the photo name (6837), and the event (Halloween on Vashon Island 2013).

I need the size (4x6, 5x7, 8x10) and the number of each size.

I need your return mailing address.

And I need a check (payable to John Sage) for the full amount, including sales tax and postage, mailed to:

  • John Sage
  • PO Box 2541
  • Vashon, WA 98070

Or, I have a PayPal account; you can make a full payment including sales tax and postage to me at jsage@finchhaven.com

Note that you are not buying a service or product rather than supporting my work in general, so PayPal should not charge me its customary rate of 2.9% + $.30.

The best way to order anything is always to email me with that information, to
jsage@finchhaven.com

Emailing me with your order allows me to keep in quick contact with you should I have a question about your order, confirm that I have received your payment, and that I have mailed your order.

If you need help with the prices and postage and sales tax, email me a list of the photos, sizes and quantities and I'll email you back with a full amount.

I print your order after I've received your check. Your order will be mailed out by first class mail generally 24 hours after printing.

You can also snail-mail me your entire order (photo name, quantity, size), your email address, and your check for full payment (payable to John Sage) to:

  • John Sage
  • PO Box 2541
  • Vashon, WA 98070

Ordering only by snail mail is my least favorite method
because it's awkward to keep in touch with you

And YES: I am on Facebook. NO: please do not contact me about photo orders using Facebook Messenger. Seriously.

Cropping

I now (after the fall of 2014) crop all my photos to make what I think is the strongest image, visually.

This means that the reprint you buy may not completely fill a standard photo paper (4x6, 5x7, 8x10) size. The printed image may either be letter-boxed or pillar-boxed at my discretion, but it will match the image you saw online.

Then, in many cases it may be possible for me to crop further into a photo to highlight one particular person or feature of the photo. If you wish me to do a custom crop, I'll need detailed instructions as to what you want, and then I'll need to take a look at the original photo to see just what can be done. All this would need to be done by email.

General Information

I am pleased to offer professional-quality reprints of my digital photography.

I do all my own printing in the most common standard reprint sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8x10") so I know exactly what you're getting. Your reprints aren't coming from a third-party lab somewhere, mailed to you without my ever seeing them.

I use an Epson Stylus Photo R2880 inkjet printer, Epson UltraChrome K3 ink, and the highest quality Epson Premium Glossy photo paper.

Epson's UltraChrome K3 ink is considered "archival quality", with a lightfastness estimated at over 80 years when used on Epson's photo papers.

Without exception, all the photos I show here will reproduce very well in any of the standard 4x6", 5x7" or 8x10" sizes.

I now (after the fall of 2014) crop all my photos to make what I think is the strongest image, visually. Thus a specific image may not completely fill one of the standard photo paper sizes. It will match what you saw online.

All sizes are the finished, cut paper sizes
