July 4th Fireworks Vashon-Style 2006and the July 4th hydro races, too!The Quartermaster Harbor fireworks show has been financed by Islander Tom (formerly of Misty Isle Farms, now of Arizona) Stewart for 15 years. Tom's moved to Arizona and since passed away, so 2006 is likely the last show of this scale and magnitude we'll see for a long time. The size and quality of the fireworks show has become something of a Puget Sound legend, as witnessed by the traffic jam (bumper-to-bumper traffic up the Island Highway) after the show as a *lot* of people head north to the Vashon-Fauntleroy ferry.
