2000 WIAA 2A Volleyball Bi-Districts at Vashon High School, 11/04/2000 Finals pictures!

Here's how they got here:

Mount Baker lost to Foster and out;
Chimacum lost to South Whidbey and out;
Klahowya (who beat us..) lost to Nooksack and out;
Steilacoom lost to Granite Falls and out...

All this happened before Saturday..

..so here we go!

First Round:

Foster lost to Meridian and moved to the loser rounds;
South Whidbey lost to Eatonville and moved to the loser rounds;
Port Townsend lost to Nooksack and moved to the loser rounds;
and Granite Falls lost to Lynden Christian!

Second Round:

South Whidbey lost to Foster and went home..
Port Townsend lost to Granite Falls and went home..

Third Round:

Eatonville lost to Meridian and moved to the loser rounds;
        Meridian advanced to the Finals!

Nooksack lost to Lynden Christian and moved to the loser rounds;
        Lynden Christian advanced to the Finals!

Fourth Round:

Nooksack defeated Foster and moved into the third/fourth place round;
        Foster moved to the fifth place round

Granite Falls defeated Eatonville and moved into the third/fourth place round;
        Eatonville moved to the fifth place round

Fifth place Round

Eatonville defeats Foster and goes on to State

Third place/Fourth place Round!

I don't know who won! ;-) -- both teams advanced to State

Finals Round!

Lynden Christian defeats Meridian and takes First, on to State!

Meridian takes Second with the loss and goes to State

On to State!

OK, so what happened then?

Eatonville was 3-0 in Pool D play;
Granite Falls was 1-2 in Pool D play
Lynden Christian was 3-0 in Pool B play;
Meridian was 2-1 in Pool C play;
Nooksack Valley was 1-2 in Pool A play;

Nooksack Valley was out in Pool A

In the Pool D tie-breaker, Granite Falls lost twice to Kiona-Benton and went home..

So, in alphabetic order:
Eatonville beat Omak; lost to Grandview; and then beat Lynden Christian for fifth place!

Lynden Christian beat Kiona-Benton; lost to Lakeside; lost to Meridian;
 and then lost to Eatonville, ending up in sixth place

Meridian lost to Grandview; beat Omak; beat Lynden Christian; and beat Kiona-Benton for third place!



Lakeside first; Grandview second; Meridian third
Kiona-Benton fourth; Eatonville fifth; Lynden Christian sixth at State 2A


This is the Bi-District finals match at Vashon High School, 11/04/00,
between Lynden Christian and Meridian!





This is Lynden Christian in the foreground, although the jerseys are *almost* identical: dark blue; and black, for Meridian..
